Inside

  • Style: A welcoming 17th century style and themed lodge decorated in hand carved oak furniture and antiques, an intimate warm atmosphere awaits.
  • Bedrooms: Choose from the D'urville Suite with its antique brass double bed, rich cotton and silk furnishings, designer bathroom and coastal views or the Abel Tasman room with double bed and private adjoining bathroom with garden vista.
  • For relaxation: Step out onto the outdoor decking and absorb the view, take advantage of the nearby local wineries to sample some of the best wines in the world or head to the beach with a good book just a short walk away.
  • For recreation: Where to start? Walking, pony trekking, marine sports, golf or simply exploring this stunning part of the island by land, sea or air there really is something for all.

Large outdoor decking area, situated on the crest of the hill surrounded by landscaped gardens incorporating rockeries and fish pond. A choice of five beaches are only a short walk away.

Food and Wine

  • In-house cuisine: Sheila and Bill offer fantastic food in house. Breakfast is included and delicious home cooked evening meals can be provided for an additonal cost.
  • Eating out: A number of great local restaurants are within a short drive or walk away offering a real taste of the island. A tried and tested list of options are provided for you.

About Your Hosts

Shelia and Bill Creighton warmly welcome you to their home. They are both avid collectors of delicate artifacts and sculpture and Bill's handywork can be found littered through the home. They are both keen walkers and enjoy meeting people who appreciate the finer things in life.

Out and About

  • Marine activities are a must during your stay, swim with the dolphins and whales at Kaikoura (Kaikoura is approximately three hours drive from Kaiteriteri.
  • Three national parks surround Pine Lodge where you can enjoy a days horse trekking, golf, fly fishing, local rivers or take a helicopter trip to futher inland lakes and rivers. Well known tracks for walking include the Abel, Tasman, Heaphy and Kahurangi.
  • Skydiving, hang-gliding and just about any extreme sport you can imagine are on your doorstep.
  • And if all that sounds like just too much fun then relax on a choice of 5 beaches all within walking distance of the lodge or enjoy a beautiful chilled glass of locally produced sauvignon blanc, heaven.
